In the heart of Swanbourne, one of Perth’s most sought-after coastal suburbs, FencrGatr® delivered a statement in precision fencing and gate design, and craftsmanship. This custom steel batten fence and gate system was engineered to meet the most intricate site challenges, proving that complexity can be transformed into elegance, while enhancing home security, pet safety, and street appeal.
The Challenge
The key priorities for the homeowners was to ensure their much-loved dog could enjoy the front yard safely, with secure fencing to prevent escape while maintaining a stylish street presence. The property’s existing retaining wall presented multiple height variations, and the front steps rose towards the house on a slight but observable incline. This meant the custom steel batten fence and gate needed to be carefully positioned and balanced to open fully without obstruction. Every millimeter of measurement mattered – both for functionality and for achieving the clean, level lines the client desired for their Swanbourne home.
The Solution
Working closely with our design team, we developed a custom configuration that included:
1. A precision-measured premium steel batten fence and gates solution, custom-welded and powder coated in colour “Night Sky”.
2. The bespoke gate configuration which comprised of two infill panels of exactly the same width on either side of the gate for unencumbered opening up the ever-so-slightly sloped step
3. Individually fabricated fence panels to fit each of the varying heights of the small rendered retaining wall, ensuring a perfectly level eyeline.
4. A custom raked return panel on the right looking back from the street, transitioning seamlessly from level to a downward slope, matching the wall gradient and returning neatly at a 90-degree angle to the front boundary fence.
5. Design features and spacing chosen to provide maximum security for the family’s dog, ensuring no gaps or weaknesses in the enclosure.
